BRUSH, CO - Nancy, age 66, my love and my life, formerly of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully November 27, 2014. Nancy lived her life the same way she battled Parkinson's for the past seven years - with hope, faith and determination. At that the time of her peaceful passing Nancy was a resident of Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush, CO.

A Celebration of Life for Nancy will begin with a visitation and a viewing for family and friends Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Boldt Funeral Home in Faribault, MN.

The funeral service portion of Nancy's Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3, at First English Lutheran Church in Faribault. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with visitation an hour before the service. Following the service, Nancy will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault next to her first husband John Westerhouse.

Nancy was born August 14, 1948, in Faribault, the daughter of Merlin and Betty Dierking. She graduated from Faribault High School in 1966 and later attended college. After college, Nancy began a rewarding 30-year career working with blind children as a Residential Program Lead for the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind in Faribault. Nancy retired in 2005.

Before Nancy's battle with Parkinson's began in 2007 she enjoyed cooking and golfing - the sport that brought us together in 2001. Christmas was always her favorite holiday - a time with her family that she planned for months in advance and carried out to perfection.

Cherished memories of Nancy will be enjoyed by I and her sons; Christopher Westerhouse and friend Kelle Romstadt of Faribault, Robert Westerhouse, his wife Lori and their son Ryan of Lonsdale, MN. Nancy is also survived by her two brothers; David Dierking and his wife Imelda of Hanford, CA, and Gary Dierking and special friend Lori Glende of Faribault. Also very special to Nancy was her granddaughter Samantha Westerhouse and her friend Matthew of Faribault, and my children, Nikki Berg and her husband Ryan and sons Jordan, Alec and Ethan of Rosemount, MN, and Bill Holland and his wife Janis from Clive, IA.

Also remembering and greatly missing Nancy will be her beloved Golden Retriever, Rocky, who Nancy adopted from Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies in 2009. There to meet Nancy in Heaven with tails wagging will be her five previous Goldens she loved and adored; Sam, Annie, Jack, Bud and Jackson.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and John who passed away in 1999. She has now joined them along with her Grandma Nelson who taught Nancy how to cook - and could she cook - and her very special friend, Roberta Hansen, who passed away earlier in 2014.

Memorials are suggested to the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind.

Written by her life partner William "Bill" Holland, former general manager of the Faribault Daily News.

Former neighbor of Nancy. We enjoyed many cups of tea and sweets, during the time Nancy and Bill lived across the street from me, here in Osceola, WI. Tho she was dealing with her illness, she was still baking and cooking. Enjoying life to the fullest, with friends and family. I will remember her with Rocky at her side. Love, Mary
