Esther Mary was born on June 3, 1919 in Montevideo, Minnesota. She had two siblings, Edna Chambers and Elvin Stoering. She spoke and read fluent German as a child. She married LeRoy Maxon Walburn on March 22, 1947. They had two children, Joanne Lee and Debra Jean. Esther was primarily a homemaker, and provided continuous support to her husband while he was in the United States Navy and his civilian career as a district custodian. She loved to travel, cook, bake, crochet, knit, cross-stitch and sew. She earned many gallon pins for donating blood, volunteered with her church, serving meals on wheels and devoting her time to her family and friends.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; Edward and Mary (Schuelke) Stoering, her brother and sister Edna Chambers and Elvin Stoering; her husband, LeRoy Maxon Walburn and their daughter Joanne Lee Walburn.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Howie; her sons, Arley D. Lund and Eugene Lund; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one host-granddaughter; and one great great granddaughter.
Rather than mourn her death, my Grandma would want her family and friends to come together and celebrate her legacy. Please join us in her remembrance celebration.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran Church, Faribault.
