Service: St. John's United Church of Christ ~ Wheeling Township
  Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.
   
Visitation: The Boldt Funeral Home ~ Faribault on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m.
  And at church for one hour prior to the services on Saturday

Doris M. (Mrs. Darrell) Meyer, age 85, of Faribault, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Summerwood of Chanhassen.

Funeral services will be at St. John's United Church of Christ, Wheeling Township, on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Lora Sturm officiating. Interment will be at St. John's Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. and also at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.

Doris M., the daughter of Lawrence and Esther (Johnson) Walsh, was born on April 16, 1929 in Sioux City, IA. She graduated from Central High School, Sioux City, IA. Doris married Darrell Meyer on October 11, 1952 at St. John's United Church of Christ. She was employed as a Lab-Tech in Faribault. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, dancing, golfing and snowmobiling but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Roger (and Tammy) Meyer of Kenyon, Robin (and Norm) Mears of Mahtomedi and Sandy (and Jerome) Nelson of Eden Prairie; five grandchildren, Shawn (and Bridget) Meyer, Jill Meyer, McKenzie Mears, Andy Nelson and Amy Nelson; two great grandchildren, Max and Hannah Meyer; and one sister in law, Mildred Tatge of Faribault.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence Walsh and Carl and Esther Johnson; her husband, Darrell; one brother, Roy (and June) Walsh; and one sister in law, Dorothy Tatge.

Doris' family would like to thank the staff at Summerwood of Chanhassen and Optage Hospice for their loving care and support.
