Beloved aunt Louise Black has passed away October 29, 2014 at age 102. Born in Baxter IA, Louise graduated from Simpson College (Alpha Chi Omega) as an English teacher and traveling director of plays in small town Iowa. She married classmate Paul Black of Indianola, an electrical engineer with Commonwealth Edison, residing in Dixon, Arlington Heights, and Joliet IL. Louise earned her Master's in Library Science and served as Plainfield HS librarian before retiring to Clark Lake in Door County WI.

Later she moved to Faribault to be near her sister Kate Remley, then to Maple Grove to be near her niece's family. Louise was an enthusiastic lover of theater, played cornet and piano, and loved dinner out with good friends. She traveled the world, wintered in Green Valley, AZ, read three newspapers a day, and enjoyed politics. Louise was always the good sport, with smiles for everyone and a sly sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by husband, Paul; sister, Kate; parents, Emory and Alice Dodd Kline; many friends; and spaniels, Melcher, Major, and Mischief.

Louise is survived by sister-in-law, Jo Myers of Mesa, AZ; niece, Lynn Saeger and husband Skip of Maple Grove; nephews, Paul (and Susie) and John (and Vivian) Robinson of Arizona, and their families; and many devoted friends and students.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Congregational Church of Faribault (222 NW 3rd Ave.).

Memorials preferred to the church preservation fund. Special thanks to Louise's church friends and everyone at Arbor Lakes Senior Living.
