JODI L. OBORN PERRIZO

Service: Daybreak Community Church, Owatonna
  Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation: Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault
  Friday, February 7, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Jodi L. Oborn Perrizo, age 39 of Faribault, died Friday, January 31, 2014 following a sudden illness while on vacation in Florida.

Jodi LOVED to give and receive presents.  She took such joy in doing something special for others just to show them how much she cared.  She loved to spend time with family.  She loved to listen to music.  She had a hilarious sense of humor, and was notorious for sitting on the side in a gathering of people and belly laughing with her brother and sister.  She was very much in love with her husband, Ryan, and loved being a full-time mother to her children Tanner and Lynnaya.  Some of her greatest joys were seeing Tanner play basketball, and watching Lynnaya dance.  She and Ryan especially enjoyed watching or attending NHL hockey games together.

To her closest friends and family, Jodi went by other names such as Snorky and Jo Jo.  She was appreciated as an artist to those around her, both in spirit and in writing and on canvas.  Jodi connected deeply with the imagery of eyes, and this was reflected in her poetry and paintings.  Her cheeky smile and sparkling eyes were unmistakable, and the unique love she had for the people that this world overlooked was unmatched by few.  She made a life out of helping each of us see what makes us individually beautiful, especially when we could not.  Jodi will forever be treasured for her refusal to judge others critically, and instead stopped to listen, understand, hold, walk with, and when all else failed... carry.

Jodi Lorraine, the daughter of Steve and Bonnie (Hendrickson) Oborn, was born on October 24, 1974 in Faribault. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy in 1993 and attended Bethel University, St. Paul.  She served as a resource counselor at a residential treatment home, and then returned to Faribault to assist in the management of her parents' businesses.  She married Tim Jandro and gave birth to their son, Tanner Jandro.

Later, she was remarried to Ryan Perrizo on December 30, 2005 and together were blessed with the opportunity of welcoming Lynnaya Espinoza into their family.  Although her smile and energy was greatly missed at the A&W and Dairy Queen, she decided that she wanted to be a stay at home mom to focus on raising her children.

She is survived by her son, Tanner (Tan) Jandro; her husband, Ryan of Faribault; and their daughter Lynnaya (Naya) Espinoza of Faribault; parents, Steve and Bonnie Oborn of Faribault; her brother, Shane and Kellie Krick Oborn of Eden Prairie and their three children, Kyertin (Ky), Eliot (El), and Raina; and her sister, Heather(Hojo) and Matt Ackborn of Albertville and their two children, Bostyn (Lil' Lizard) and Baylor (Lil' Mr.); and grandparents, Chuck and Winnie Hendrickson of Faribault, and Joy Oborn of North Carolina; her father-in-law, Steve Perrizo; and Sarah Matheny, Lynnaya's biological mother. And many other precious aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that were very important in her life.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Paul Oborn; and her mother-in-law, Bernadette Perrizo.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Daybreak Community Church, Owatonna, led by Pastor Larry Tindall and Shane Oborn.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Boldt Funeral Home.

The family has requested that guests wear a hooded sweatshirt to both the visitation and Celebration of Life service in honor of Jodi, who was rarely seen without one on.

Memories

Dear Bonnie and Steve and the entire Oborn family: My heart is so sad to hear that Jodi has passed away. My prayers are with you all. I'm sure that she has been warmly welcomed by those in heaven and they will look after her. For the rest of us left behind, we will have to find a way to go on without her, and that is very difficult. Tanner you know how much you were loved by her but also by all the other members of your family. They are your rock now. Remember, God is always there when you need to talk. My heartfelt sympathy to you all. Mrs. Fuchs

Memories

Jodi was such a special girl growing up at Trinity. Even then she had a quick wit about her. As a grown woman she would always speak to us when we saw her - always wearing that big beautiful smile. God had blessed her with many talents which she used to His glory. We pray our Heavenly Father would wrap his loving arms around each and every one of you as you travel this difficult path. With the promise of the Resurrection in your hearts please know our thoughts will be with you now and in the weeks and months to come. So glad to have known Jodi - she will be missed.

Memories

Steve, Bonnie & Ryan and all family members There are so many wonderful memories that my heart is bursting with sadness at a life being taken much to soon. Your strength and faith with see you through this difficult time. I see a young lady who made us laugh & cry. I have so many memories working with Jodi at Dairy Queen - helping her get food for friends and cleaning the upstairs - sitting on the steps in the back room eating, planting floors out in the front and "creating" a few new blizzards. Many, many fond memories of her and your family. Thinking of you of all.
