Service: St. Luke's Church - Faribault

Visitation: The Boldt Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
  and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service

Kay Y. Achilles, age 75, of Faribault, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at her home.

A memorial service will be at St. Luke's Church, Faribault on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Aaron Brockmeier and the Reverend Henry L. Doyle, officiating. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

A memorial visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2014.

Kay Yvonne, the daughter of Samuel and Erna (Glende) Fiebiger, was born on April 10, 1939 in Faribault. She attended Faribault High School. She married Verne H. Achilles on October 29, 1955 in Faribault, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2001. Kay was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting antiques, cooking, spending time with her family, and the special outings with her best friend and sister, Roxy.

She is survived by her five daughters, Kim Achilles of Faribault, LuAnn (and Don) Nickolay of Elko, Laurie (and Tim) Morgan of Faribault, Cheri (and Dale) Fritz of Nerstrand, and Barb Achilles of Moorhead; nine grandchildren, Jason Nickolay, Jon Nickolay, Jessica (and Kevin Foster) Nickolay, Jennifer Nickolay, Brett (and Mary) Morgan, Robert Morgan, Emily (and Matt) Gersemehl, Justin Lewis and Natalie (and Juan Negrete) Lewis; six great grandchildren, Carson & Jada Foster, Sydney & Ella Morgan, and Madelyn & Ava JoAnn Gersemehl; one sister, Roxanne (and Don) Ableman of Faribault; special friend, Dick Swenson of Northfield; one brother in law, Ray Sporre of Faribault; nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verne; one sister, Donna (and Orlando "Ole") Swanson; and one sister in law, Olivene Sporre.

My thoughts and prayers are with Kay's family in her passing. As a child, I spent countless hours playing with the Achilles girls in our Cannon City neighborhood. May God's blessings, comfort, and peace be with all of you.
