Memories

My thoughts and prayers are sent to the family of Jon. Jon was my classmate, teammate, friend and the guy who stud for the things that were right. Like Scott Webster said, Jon was our house. We had some fun times out on his farm hunting squirrels and just being kids. It's very sad to hear about Jon's passing, but I'm sure his legacy will continue to live.

Memories

Jon and I were high school classmates, good friends and team mates. We shared many great memories from band and stage band also - Jon played a mean trumpet! Many great memories from football where we were both starters on the offensive line. I think it was coach Jeff Miller who gave Jon his nickname "House". I remember dropping Jon off at his house many, many times as it was not that far out of my way home being "country kids". Jon and I tackled a really big project during the summer of 1976 when we tore down the old barn at my families farm. We took it down piece by piece as saving barn boards was the thing to do in case someone might want them (never happened). My mom couldn't believe the groceries Jon could put down for dinner, including about a half gallon of milk all by himself! My other clear memory was helping Jon raise money for his wrestling trip to Germany by raffling off a hog from our farm. Jon brought me back a set of beer glasses from Germany as a thank you that I still have today. He was a really great friend.

Worked with Jon at SPRTC he also did much of the remodeling work on our home. At our home inspection last March prior to purchase the inspector commented how well done the work was. A true testament to Jon's skill and talent. My sympathies to his family and may Jon RIP.
