DeWayne C. Shaske, age 81 of Faribault, died on Monday, July 28, 2014 at District One Hospital, Faribault.
A memorial service will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be at Nerstrand Evangelical Cemetery, Wheeling Township, Rice County.
A memorial visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
DeWayne Clifford, the son of Clifford and Lena (Leider) Shaske, was born May 22, 1933 in Nerstrand. He graduated from Kenyon High School in 1950 and attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago. DeWayne married Myrtle Burger in 1955 and they were later divorced. In 1976, DeWayne married Barbara (McKay) Bradley in Faribault. He farmed in Wheeling Township until 1975. Wayne was previously employed with Matejcek Implement, Farm Systems, Sakota Seeds, Agri Pro Seeds and Legend Seeds. He was a past member of Moose Lodge, Eagles Club and Elks Club, all of Faribault.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Scott (and Natalie) Shaske of Rochester, David Shaske of Bagley, Lori (and Jon) Cameron of Bemidji, Kathryn Bradley of Faribault, Susan (and Mike) Schema of Faribault and Sandra Kranz of Warsaw; eight grandchildren; a brother, Dale (and Sharon) Shaske of Faribault; two brothers in law, James McKay of Euless, TX and Chris Christensen of Faribault; and a sister in law, Marsha (and Bill) McDonald of Faribault.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dawn Shaske in infancy; one sister, Ardith Luebke; and one sister in law, Mary Christensen.

I did not know DeWayne, but Scott, DeWayne's son is a friend of mine, and a friend of our group of card players. DeWayne can rest easy knowing Scott has good friends down here that will see him through this tough time time. We are all here for you and your family.
