Memories

I believe this is the Verna that I worked with at Sunrise Village in Willmar. I remember her wit and dry sense of humor as she would say that she could prepare the food better than the cooks at Sunrise. Particularly she would suggest breaking the dishes so we wouldn't have to wash them! She was such a nice person. I no longer work there, but fondly do remember her. She was a joy to work with, never complaining, always cheerful.

Memories

Grandma was such a special person to me. She would sit and tell me stories as we looked through old photo albums. She would talk about dances in town and the local bootlegger. My brother and I always enjoyed going up to their lake home any time of year. We knew once we got there that we got a treat of some kind regardless of the time of night; flat bread, lefsea, home made bread. The key was always in grandpa's old overalls and the light was always on waiting for us. We also knew where to find those homemade cookies if the jars were empty in the kitchen. Playing cribbage or wist, fishing, sledding, riding the 3 wheeler, boating, etc. One of my fondest memories is ice fishing with grandpa. He couldnít fish because there were so many fish coming out of the ice holes. Dad and grandpa cleaned all the fish and grandma cooked the best fish fry. You canít find another fish fry around that tasted that good. I will miss you dearly grandma, but I am so happy grandpa is there to play cribbage with you again. I hope you beat him.

Memories

Robin, we met a few times when you joined your Mother at Eagle Lake Church. Verna was a wonderful caring lady who made me feel welcome at Eagle Lake Church from the beginning. I will miss her smile and sense of humor and her laughter. I was just thinking of her last week, wondering how she was. I will always remember her kindness. My sympathies to you and your family. Verna was a shinning example to us all on living a life of humility, faith, love and family. I will also miss her keen sense of humor that she had all the way to the end. So happy that she is finally at peace with Marvin in Heaven. God bless you.

Memories

We only know Sandie's mother through Sandie and her family. She must have been a wonderful person because she raised such a wonderful daughter. A mother teachs her children how to live their lives by the way in which they live their lives. Mrs. Miller taught her children very well. Our love ones move on to be with God but God does not take the memories.

Memories

She's "Home" Praise the Lord!! She worked so hard all her life and had a strong faith in the Lord. She loved music and dancing. I imagine her and Dad are dancing together again. When I hear, "In The Mood" I will always think of them. Yes, living on Eagle Lake was our heaven. We are so blessed to have them as parents and the memories they gave us. What a legacy they left us.

Memories

My memories are growing up at Eagle Lake and enjoying the swimming, fishing, sledding, ice skating and etc. It was the best place to live. We always had so much snow and we would be sledding or making forts or etc. We would row are boat across the lake and all over, we didn't have a motor except later. Wow, were we ever lucky we thought. Dad made us cane poles to go fishing and Marly and I would catch so many fish and so Dad taught us how to clean them. Mom always had fresh bread, cookies, donnuts and many others. Going to Eagle Lake Lutheran Church was very important to us, we were there a lot. We built our home in 1952 out of material from the ice house, it was a family affair. Boy were we living, indoor toilet, runnying water, our own bedrooms. Wow we had it all. Mom worked so hard at the Country Club and cooking for schools in Willmar. They never found anyone to replace here after she retired. Mom and Dad took up Golf when they retired and I think they were the first ones on the Golf Course. Dad started with 6 balls and indeed with hundreds, he was a good fisherman. It was always fun going up and staying there with all the family. You would have to watch where you walked as there were kids every where. Grandma always had enough food. She is in Heaven dancing with Dad now!! We have very good memories!!! She will be well missed.
