Mrs. Knack was my fourth grade teacher at Washington Elememtary in Faribault. I remember her as being a very good teacher who cared for her students with all of her heart. Maybe my best testiment to Mrs Knack is that she is a woman who made a difference in my life, when I needed it the most. Thank you Mrs Knack, for all that you did. Jean Jensen.

Esther and Delbert entrusted their lake home to us he winter of 1988. We moved here to Brainerd with my husband's mother and had a hard time finding a place that would allow her longtime companion, Daisy the dog. We have fond memories of that winter and the wonderful couple, the Knacks. God take Esther into Your home, and give her family peace and comfort. Renee & Earle Woolley

Ester- my great aunt (in more than one way!) - lived life to the fullest and encouraged all to do your best with a great charisma and charm! It was always a treat to visit the Knack family and spend time with Del, Ester and our "older"-cousins. Ester was immensely important to our family as her sister Lora, my mother's birth mother, passed away when my mother was young and we kids did not know her other than photos. She will be sorely missed and always remembered. Eternal Peace.

Mrs. Knack was my 4th Grade teacher. I am now 51 years old..She was the sweetest most maternal teacher ever! It was my first year in a public school that year coming from a one room school house west of Faribault-with only 16 students total! She sure helped my transition to public school smooth!I remember one day in class she had us take turns reading to her. She dozed off and we all quietly snuck out to the playground. When she woke up she came and got us and never even punished us! I just want you to know many of us that were her students are discussing her on Facebook-take pride in the many students lives she touched even after all these years!

So sorry to see the notice about Esther's passing this morning. She was my fourth grade teacher at Washington School in the early 1970s. Esther made an impression. Her classes were disciplined and you followed the rules. But there were also consistently high expectations for achievement and those expectations had a great impact upon me, especially academically. She was a truly great teacher. So, while I hadn't seen her in many years, her memory was always a special one. My very best to the Knack family.

Esther was a first cousin of my mother, Marie Westphal. I have many fond memories of visiting with Esther and chatting with her about our Westphal relatives. She shared many of her recollections about the family and encouraged me to find out what I could about our family. We last spoke just a few months ago. May she rest in peace.
