Jan was the best neighbor I ever had. She would have me and my sister over for Christmas and took care of my cat while I was moving in. She always came over to check on me after my sister Kathi died. She gave me a beautiful coral vine that thrived in my front patio and since we have just moved back to Phoenix I am searching for another to plant in her memory. She was always helping the neighbors. Her love for the church, plants and helping others is what I will always remember about her and will miss her dearly. I was looking forward to letting her know we just moved back to Phx. so I could see her on her next trip out. Robin Shearer-Feeling

We were blessed to have the Lord place Jan into our lives in 1989 when we moved to Arizona and became members of Christ Church Lutheran, Phoenix. Jan was a hard working servant of the Lord. She exuded an attitude of true joy and happiness to be alive in her faith. It was truly a pleasure to spend time with Jan. Our hearts go out to you, the family, as you deal with the "bitter sweetness" of her passing. There is sadness in your hearts while Jan is in the joyous countenance of her Redeemer. May our Heavenly Father grant you comfort and refuge in His Arms.

We come to know Jan through my sister Eileen Gebhardt, and she always treated us like we were family when we visited. Although we never met you, her family in Minnesota, she spoke of you often and it was easy to tell how much she loved all of you. We are so sorry for loss, and pray that God gives gives you comfort and peace and may you always enjoy your many happy and wonderful memories you have shared with her.

Have you ever noticed how children are constantly asking questions? Well there is no doubt than Jan was one of God's favorite children. She always asked the who, what, why, where and how in every conversation. She was truly interested and concerned in her fellow human beings. She Loved her Neighbor and she loved GOD. Jan will be truly missed but I know there is rejoicing in Heaven today. In HIS name. Amen.

We are so saddened to hear of your family's great loss in Jan! We LOVED visiting with her at the Christ Church information booth! She had so many fun and interesting stories and loved her family. Such a tiny little thing with a gigantic heart and so much wisdom. We always told her she never looked her age. God's comfort to you as you celebrate all the blessings of such a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

I was so sorry to hear of Jan's sudden death. She is one of the reasons we are members of Christ Church - Lutheran in Phoenix. I knew Jan since I was a freshman in high school; Immanuel Lutheran and Zion Lutheran had New Year' Eve "watch night" parties together and that is where we met. She became good friends with my mother Olga Ziemann when they were both involved in LWML. My folks just happened to meet Jan at CC-L before we moved to Phoenix in 1989. They told us that is where we should go to church! So we do! Ray and I became great friends with Jan and Eileen, a friendship that continued to this day! It was always so good to see her when she would come back to Phoenix to visit and help Eileen with the altar lilies at Easter and poisettias at Christmas. We will all miss her, but especially Eileen. My heart goes out to her especially, as well as our sympathy to her family who will certainly miss such a dynamic lady! We loved her! I am thankful that she is now relieved of her suffering from her health problems in recent years. May God grant all of you (and us) His comfort as only He can give.
