RUTH PETERSMEYER WILLE
Ruth Petersmeyer Wille, age 96 of Nerstrand, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Kenyon Sunset Home.
Funeral services will be held at Nerstrand United Methodist Church on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Lora Sturm officiating. Interment will be at the Nerstrand Evangelical Cemetery, rural Nerstrand.
Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Tuesday, February 19th from 3 to 7 p.m. and also at church for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Ruth was born November 28, 1916 in Northfield Township, Rice County, Minnesota to Herbert and Luvina (Bauernfeind) Schimelpfenig. She graduated from Kenyon High School in 1936 and St. Lucas School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1939. Ruth was united in marriage to Harold Petersmeyer on January 14, 1940 and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1959. On March 18, 1978, she married Harland Wille and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1987. Ruth worked many years at St. Lucas Hospital and District One Hospital, both of Faribault, until her retirement in 1981. She enjoyed woodworking projects, playing cards, knitting, quilting, taking trips up north to fish, traveling to Switzerland, Norway, Germany, Holland, Honduras and all over the U.S. and spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Nerstrand.
She is survived by one daughter, Joan (and William) Quiggle of Goodhue, three sons, Larry (and Janet) Petersmeyer of Nerstrand, Paul (and Carol) Petersmeyer of Prior Lake and Gary (and Mary) Petersmeyer of Nerstrand; two step-children, Lynne (and Steven) Scherer of Bloomington and Kevin (and Jackie) Wille of Nerstrand; several grandchildren, step grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Glen Schimelpfenig of Alameda, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands, Harold and Harland.
