It is with saddened hearts that we say goodbye to Mary Beth Schneider, age 50, of Faribault. Loving wife, incredible daughter, sister, friend and stand-in-mother to anyone of any age who needed love and hugs. Mary Beth passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 after an 8-month battle with AML.
Memorial services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Dana Houck, pastor of Hope United Methodist Church, Faribault.
Visitation services will be held at Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. and also for one half hour prior to the services on Friday.
Mary Beth, the daughter of Alvin and Betty David of Shieldsville, was born on February 4, 1963 at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague. She attended Bethlehem Academy High School in Faribault and graduated in 1981. She found the love of her life in Michael Schneider of Faribault, and they were united in marriage on November 1, 1985. Mary Beth spent 20+ years ensuring vending machines around the world were filled with goodies. In the last few years, she found the job of her dreams, cooking for the children at Faribault Lutheran School...each one of those children captured a piece of her heart and gave her so much joy. Together with Mike, she created a home that was a sanctuary for all who visited. The spring and summer found her surrounded by the gardens she loved so much and the winter months gave her time to bring her unique touches of style and organization to this crazy world around us. Camping was a favorite pastime and those campground stories of family and friends will live on for many years. Mary was quick to smile and was known for her giggles. She always put the needs and comfort of all those around her ahead of her own...even as she battled her own illness. She was the glue and for all of us who have lost her, our ends are frayed and loose without her.
Mary Beth is survived by many, many people who will mourn her loss and carry on her legacy of spreading joy and smiles: her husband of 28 years, Michael Louis Schneider and their fuzzball cat Marble, of Faribault; her parents, Alvin and Betty David of Shieldsville; her brother, Michael David (children: Phillip, Tom, Steve, Christopher and Sarah) of Faribault: her sister, Jenn David and Ben Crump of Charlotte, NC; her in-laws: Harold and Carole Schneider of Faribault, Marshall and Renee Schneider (children: Nathan, Matthew, Carolyn and Andrew) of Becker, Merry and Mike Kline (children: Dylan and Taylor) of Elk River, Melody and Loel Hayden (children: Chrissi, Adam, Zach and Cody) of Sioux City, IA. Mary Beth's touch was long and reaching...and the list of friends and family that will miss her goes on and on.
Mary Beth is now in heaven...tending to Jesus' gardens, organizing God's files, and making certain that no angel ever forgets anyone's birthday.

Mary took over all the planning & shopping for decorations, to help me plan my daughters wedding in September 2000. She made everything seem so easy and it all turned out absolutely beautiful and perfect. She and Sue Hein and Sue's kids decorated Eagles Hall and I can't forget all the mints that were made. No matter what was happening she was the first to take over and make what ever anyone was planning a breeze. We will miss her twinkeling eyes and bright smile and big heart.

Mary was one of my first life insurance customers and would cut my hair in her kitchen. She married one of my high school classmates, Mike, and the fun and memories started. Mary always had a smile on her face, sometimes it was a bit devilish, and she always had a big hug for you. God will take good care of her now, Mary, you will be missed. Scott and Mary Anderson

I have many memories of growing up with Mary. Multiple hours of fun in the sun swimming in the area lakes in the summer and snowmobiling/sliding in the winter. And lets not forget about numerous games of hide and seek at the farm. Her and my family did many things together, including summer picnics and even a family vacation out west. She always had a smile on her face. The only exception was when she was fighting with her brother Mike!! Mary truly was a sweetheart and will be solely missed. Mazaska Monster (Guess who?)
