HAROLD A. SCHMIDTKE

Service: The Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault
  Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
   
Visitation: One hour prior to the service on Saturday
   

Harold A. Schmidtke, age 85 of Morristown died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Keystone Communities, Faribault.

Funeral services will be held at Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Morristown with military rites provided by American Legion Post #149, Morristown.

Visitation will be held at Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Saturday for one hour prior to the services.

Harold A., the son of Arthur John and Pauline Ernestine (Teschke) Schmidtke was born on January 26, 1928 in Morristown. He graduated from Morristown High School in 1946. Harold served in the U. S. Navy from February 1950 to December 1951 and the U.S. Air Force from December 1951 to May 1962. He began his military as a Navy pilot and achieved Air Force training as a mechanical engineer. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by N.W. Airlines for many years.

He is survived by two children, Bruce Arthur Schmidtke Barry of Faribault and DeLana (and Gary) Dewbre of Chickasha, OK; four grand-daughters; six great grandchildren; one sister, Ardis (and Joseph) Kabes of Morristown; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frederick (and Ethel) Schmidtke, Gordon J. Schmidtke and Martin R. Schmidtke.

Dear Ardis & Harolds family also.......Was looking at Minnesota News and am sending deepest sympathy to you & yours.....and please remember the memory fun days from past years......I was in Gordys class at Morristown High 1948.....Arlette Mensing but knew all the Schmidke kids and we all had a great time in Morristown........We were just home to Minnesota from Pleasant Hill, California in August and never miss the Legion Hall for good food in Morristown...........and having a friends celebration there as well.....Anyway am sending prayers & love to your family during these sad days & losing your Brother & Father but remember you will see each other again someday when we will all be together again when the Resurection & our rejoicing to all be together in Heaven again.......Arlette (Mensing) Hogan............PS ARDIS HAVEN'T SEEN YOU FOR A LONG TIME BUT WHEN pHYLLIS WAS STILL ALIVE SHE USED TO TELL US ABOUT YOU.....AND HAPPY YOU ARE STILL IN MORRISTOWN and if you have a computer send me a note sometime & Gods Blessings to you & your family......I'm also at 412 Monti Circle -- Pleasant Hill, Ca. 94523
