Memories

I enjoyed being Carrie's neighbor, watching her grow up. I first met her when I moved in and this very cute little girl came over to sing Christmas Carols and welcome me to the neighborhood. We enjoyed her many visits, coming over everyday after school to visit and have a snack. She used to call and ask if my poodle "Beau" could come out and play. After I said yes, and she took him home, I can still see her, she put a blue tub top on Beau and they each had a lawn chair side by side in her driveway. Wow, such great memories. We will always remember the smile, and her laughter. Carrie, you will always have a special place in our hearts, we will miss you.

My wonderful Foster Sister Carrie....since I heard of your passing on Friday, I have talked to you everynight as I look into the star filled sky and I hope your hearing me! I have countless memories of you and they all include that contagious smile of yours!! We helped each other, relied upon each other, cried together, and laughed hysterically many times together! We were sisters and that's what sisters do. I am so proud of the woman you became, going back to college & raising a beautiful daughter. It's amazing how great a person can be with nuturing from people that love and care about you! I feel truly blessed having had you in my life during the most difficult time in my life. I feel peace knowing I have two angels looking out for me, you and our Foster Mom Barb. I hope the two of you have laughed, cried, hugged and are now playing BINGO!!! You will be forever in my heart and my thoughts! Your Foster Sister, Tanny Brown Mayer

Memories

Carrie was special to many people, for different reasons, but no matter what, her smile was genuine. You could almost read her mind, by her facial expressions, her smile said everything. Good, mischievous, spiteful, flirty, it was all said with her smile. Some of us are brought into this world to people who were not ready to be parents, and for those lucky enough, were brought to a safe house, one of total love and understanding. Carries spirit for life and living came from this house, with her sisters from different mothers. Carrie's spirit will be with those she loved, and for those who didn't try, or understand, or underestimated her, may they someday realize the hurt and pain their actions played in her life. You can finally be free from all the pain and scrutiny from those who thought they knew better, but actually didn't. Rest in peace and watch over your sweet Madison. Love you! Sister of a sister from another mother.

Memories

I'll always remember Carrie's laugh, her thoughtfulness, and her artistic style. I'll remember her. I know she loved her grandfather and grandmother Wilmer and Virginia. I'm thankful I was able to talk to her at Wilmer's funeral. My thoughts are with you all and my prayers will pray that God wraps Madison in His arms. P.S. Mom thinks Carrie looks a lot like her great-grandmother Ella.

Memories

I can assure you... that I will not meet another person like Carrie in my lifetime. She was amazing... a true friend, a gentle soul, always smiling, always overcoming a struggle! I emphasize OVERCOMING because she never failed to smile, laugh and, pick herself up... brush off the dirt and do it again. I have known Carrie since grade school and our friendship has been up and down through the almost 30 years. But no matter what... we could always pick up where we last left off. I will miss you dearly Ms. Carrie!!! Still doesn't seem real that your gone. To Carrie's love of her life, Madison. Lu Lu... you were always the light of her life. Her pride and joy!! She loved you with all her heart and always will!!! I can't imagine your pain right Madison but, keep your memories you have alive. Always reach out for help if you need it. You have a great support system and an amazing family that will do everything in their power to help you thorugh these difficult times. (That goes for Carrie's whole family) Family is one of God's greatest blessings.... Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Memories

Carrie was a special person. When I was a teenager I watched Carrie during the summers and she was just one of the family on our many summer adventures. I had the chance to see her grow from a girl into a young woman. She was with our entire family the day after my Mother passed only 9 months ago. Tears and memories were shared that day. She had a special place with our family. All my love.

This just doesn't seem real. All of us girls, your sisters, miss you more than you could ever know. You were loved so much. The last words we spoke were of forgiveness, pride and love we had for each other. I was so proud of you for being strong and turning your life around and enjoying what your life had in store. None of us expected this. I rest easy in the knowledge that you and Barb are finally together and looking after us. May you fly on wings of grace and be carried to your place with the angels. I love you my beautiful sister. Forever Family.
