I was so very lucky to have Karen as a friend, former mother in law, and a wonderful step Oma to my son!!! She welcomed both of us with open arms to her family, as did many others. She was full of light and love & even though many miles separated us, she always had a special warm place in my heart, now and always. You will be missed Karen/Oma. xoxoxoxo

Aunt Karen was a caring, strong woman who was a lot of fun to be with and had a heart of gold. My wife, Cindy, and I remember and cherish the last time we saw her when she took the time to travel to Oshawa last fall to come to our 25th wedding anniversary party. It was so great to see her. We admire Aunt Karen for many things, one of which was having the courage and conviction to follow her heart, a life adventure that took her to Medford, Minnesota where she married Joe Herr. I know this was a very difficult life decision for her for so many reasons but she had found love and happiness there and chose to follow her heart. Tremendous courage and strength. Aunt Karen will be dearly missed. Life is often so unfair.
