Pastor Forest confirmed my family, and married my sister. He was a kind man who would always have time for us. On Father son day he would always take my brother and I. He shared his love for "birding" with all the kids at school and church. On my confirmation day he gave us all an Apache teardrop which I kept for rememberence of that day. I am one of the many who he shard his love, and brought us to Christ and for that I am eternally grateful. I want to say how sorry I am, but I know he walks with God. Sincerely Davis Benson family

I remember meeting Forest at one of the rededication services we had at the Castle Rock United Methodist Church many years ago. Forest was known as the bicyle pastor at Castle Rock. He used to give my sister in law Betty Pond Lace rides in the basket on his bike if I have that correct. She was just a wee one at the time. I have enjoyed getting to know Forest over the years. He was such a kind hearted, mild spoken man. It was an honor to have him speak at our Legacy Dinner at the Castle Rock United Methodist Church a couple of years ago. It became a smaller world when I learned the my husband Ken knew Kirsten. Kirsten, my heart goes out to you at this time of your loss. He was a special man and I know you will keep those special memories of him in your heart. He truly was a blessing to many people and I count myself fortunate to be one of them. It has been many years since I last spoke to Rev. Strnad, but I have very vivid memories of his time as minister at the Kasson Methodist Church (mid sixties?) Not only as our minister, but his visits to the grade school to share with us his love of birds. As a bird bander, he would sometimes bring over to the school one of the birds he caught and show us the bird up close. My thoughts and prayers are with Kirsten, Linda and Jane and their families. I remember the day he confirmed me in the Methodist Church in Kasson. Fond memories of days past in a small town church with a loving extended family of Methodists. My sisters and I used to babysit his daughters in the parsonage. Blessed be his memory and condolences to the family.

I remember in Kasson Grade School your father was banding birds in his yard , and he would bring the banded live songs birds into our grade school class. I never forgot that and from his interest in showing that to us made me a life time birder. Best regards. Ted Bartel
