Robert L. Pelkey, age 96 of Stanton, died on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at his home.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stanton United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Stanton Cemetery.

Memorial visitation will be at the Stanton Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. also for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.

Robert Lloyd, the son of Sava and Nellie (King) Pelkey, was born December 14, 1915 in Hawick. He married Betty Swinton on December 8, 1945 at the Stanton Parsonage. Robert worked for his father-in-law, Amos Swinton and then was self-employed for many years with his own trucking business which he later he sold. Robert was employed by Northfield Elevator, Hughes Equipment and Dick Green Farming.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean (Swinton) Pelkey; a son, James and Darlene Pelkey of Cannon Falls; three grandchildren, Keith (and Susan) Pelkey of Kenyon, Karen (and Mick) Canedy of Northfield, Katie (and Jim) Creighton of Randolph; 7 great grandchildren, Brent & Ryan Pelkey, Katelyn, Ashley, Emily & Lindsey Canedy, Cody Creighton and another one expected in July; two step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Stan, Ernie, Virgil, Eugene, Allen, Stewart, Florence, Gladys and an infant sister.
