Dorothy (Mrs. Werner) Hilmer, age 95 of Faribault, died on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Faribault.

Funeral services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Joanna Mitchell, officiating. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Dorothy M., the daughter of William and Martha (Bisping) Hachfeld, was born June 3, 1917 in Cannon City Township. She graduated from Faribault Senior High School. Dorothy was a cook at the State Academy for the Deaf in the 1930ís. She was later asked by President Leonard Elstad and his family of Gallaudet University, Washington, D.C. to be their cook. After W. W. II concluded she returned to Faribault and Dorothy married Werner Hilmer on February 12, 1954 in Faribault and he preceded her in death on March 11, 1974. Dorothy was a cook at Faribault Senior High School and District One Hospital, both of Faribault. She was a long-time member of St. Lukeís United Church of Christ having been baptized, confirmed and married there until St. Lukeís separated from the United Church of Christ. She had been active at the church and served in many capacities. Dorothy was a member of Athens Chapter 82, Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Dorothy is survived by four sister-in-laws, Jean Hachfeld, Mildred Hachfeld, Betsy Hachfeld and Lee Hachfeld all of Faribault; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four brothers, Armin, Elmer, Martin and Paul Hachfeld.
