Lila M. Smith, age 76, of Faribault, died on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the District One Hospital, Faribault.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Faribault with the Reverend Robert L. Mundahl and the Reverend Maynard Spitzack, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paulís Cemetery, Menomonie, WI.

Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Monday, August 23, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. and also in the church for one hour prior to service on Tuesday.

Lila Mae Smith, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Seifert) Seipel was born on May 8, 1934. She married Harlan Bauer in 1965, and he preceded her in death in 1979. Later she married Gerald Smith in 1990, and he preceded her in death in 2003. She was a homemaker and was active at her church and the Senior Center. Lila enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by two children, Constance Bauer and Darwyn Bauer both of Faribault; many step children and step grandchildren; two sisters, Mamie Weber of Elmwood, WI and Elaine (and Dave) Dierauer of Menomonie, WI; and a special friend, Carl Krueger of Morristown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Herbert Seipel and one step grandson.

Memories

I will really miss the chats that we would have whenever we would see each other out in the yard. She was always in such good spirits and was always a joy to talk to. The children and I are really going to miss a great neighbor.
