Melvin B. Teigen

Service: The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2618 Park Ave.
  12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011
Visitation: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday
  A reception following the service will be at the Boldt Funeral Home

Melvin B. Teigen, age 91 of Faribault, died peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Faribault.

A memorial service will be held at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2618 Park Ave. N.W., Faribault on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.

Melvin was born in Rugby, North Dakota. Served in the Army in WWII. He married Eleanor 61 years ago in Minneapolis. He was a devoted family man, avid sports fan and outdoors man. He was known for his quick witted sense of humor. He was a carpenter and was a business owner of auto body repair.

Melvin is survived by wife, Eleanor; daughters, Carol, Debra, Nancy, Julie, Jennifer, Stephanie; son, Wayne; 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandsons and 9 siblings.

Mel's oldest daughter, Carol, was one of my best friends in high school and I spent a lot of time at the Teigen's. I learned to drive a "stick shift" driving one of Mel's Volkswagens. Carol, my sympathies to your family and may God Bless you all.
