Emma H. (Mrs. Harvey) Stiehl, age 92, of Northfield, died on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at her home.

Funeral services will be at St. Johnís Lutheran Church, Webster, on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Donovan Riley officiating. Interment will be at St. Johnís Lutheran Church Cemetery, Webster.

Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Monday, December 19, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. and also at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.

Emma H., the daughter of William and Henrietta (Ross) Gusse, was born on April 29, 1919 in Webster where she was also baptized and confirmed. She grew up on the family farm and attended Webster School. When her brother married and moved to the family farm, Emma and her parents moved to Northfield. She was employed at Carleton College where she met Harvey Stiehl from Alden. They were married on November 1, 1941 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Northfield, and moved to their present farm where she lived until December 2010. Harvey preceded her in death on April 7, 2001. Emma truly enjoyed her chickens, geese, ducks, milking the cows, fieldwork, a big garden and her many flowers.

She is survived by one daughter, Darlene (and Ray) Larson of Northfield; two grandchildren, John (and Else) Larson of Northfield and Emily (and Ben) Leonard of Dallas, TX; and five great grandchildren; Annalisa and Elizabeth Larson of Northfield and Hudson, Coleman and Larson Leonard of Dallas, TX; and three sisters in law, Lois Hemmingsen of Alden, Delores Sternhagen and Maureen Stiehl of Albert Lea.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; and one brother, Delmer Gusse.
