Garfield Lowell Eigenbrodt, age 92, of Prior Lake, died on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Augustana Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at Prairieville United Methodist Church, rural Faribault on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Lora Sturm, officiating. Interment will be held at the Prairieville Church Cemetery, with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post 141, Kenyon.

Visitation will be held in the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 4 to 6 p.m. and also in the church for one 1/2 hour prior to the services on Saturday.

Garfield Lowell, the son of Garfield and Ede (Domrose) Eigenbrodt was born on April 20, 1918 in Faribault. He graduated from Kenyon High School in 1934 and North Central College, Naperville, IL in 1938. He taught school in Hamilton, ND and also at Milaca. Garfield served in the U. S. Air Force as a Major during WWII. He later was employed by the Office of Inspector General Department of Agriculture and General Electric prior to his retirement. He loved life and the joy of each new day. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing for trout in mountain streams with his brother. He sang in church choirs and traveled with his brother and sister-in-law. His other hobbies included reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching football and baseball games, and above all being with his family and loved ones.

He survived by his sister, Dorothy (and Waldo) Lang of Faribault; one sister-in-law Martha Eigenbrodt of Apple Valley; six nieces and nephews, Bonita (and Ev) Cox, Susan (and Carl) Tuck, Joyce (and Tom) De Ziel, G. Michael (and Jan) Eigenbrodt, John (and Kim) Lang and Steve (and Marcia) Lang; great nieces and nephews, Brian Cox, Elizabeth Cox, Andrew De Ziel, Amy Lang, Christopher Lang, David Lang, Paul (and Melissa) Eigenbrodt; one great great nephew, Kohl Eigenbrodt; and one special friend for the past 70 years, Walter Erickson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Glenn Eigenbrodt.
