Memories

Hi, I live at 4350 Brookside Court in Edina and Irene was such a kind sweet woman. One day, I couldn't get my car started and needed to go up to Jerry's grocery store. Irene was in the garage getting ready to leave, so I just asked if I could get a ride from her and she gladly obliged. Whenever I saw Irene, she was cheerful and genuinely interested in knowing how I was doing. I had no idea that she was 91 years old! She was a fun loving and kind person. I will miss her here at Brookside. I am sorry for your loss. My best regards, Lynn Rekvig #220

Memories

I remember going to Irene's home with her granddaughter, Lisa. I was pretty sheltered as a child, meaning, my parents seldom took me out of Faribault nor anywhere. Going to Irene's home with Lisa for an overnight was an adventure for me! She let us swim in her pool, took us shopping where we bought matching shirts, and took us to a movie. I think we saw Black Beauty or something of that nature and I loved it! Lisa's Grandma also reminded Lisa, who reminded me, how we have a special friendship that has been molded over close to 30 years! When Lisa was sick with cancer, Irene told Lisa we need to remember our friendship and keep in touch. Those words stuck with me because it reminded me how precious life is and how valuable friendships are. I'm not sure if Lisa remembers even telling me this! Thanks Lisa for being my friend and I'm so sorry about your Grandma. She was a beautiful lady! Love you, Dawn Jandro
