Norman F. Taylor, age 78 of Faribault, died on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Sterling House of Faribault.

A memorial service will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon Kevin Abakasi, Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Faribault, officiating.

A memorial visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home on Monday, July 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. and also on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.

Norman F., the son of Rufus and Margaret (Gretz) Taylor, was born February 10, 1933 in Red Wing. He graduated from Red Wing High School in 1951. Norman served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp stationed at Ft. Shafter, Honolulu, HI from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War. He married Mary Louise Opem on December 26, 1957 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Faribault. He was a machinist for Nutting Truck and Caster of Faribault for 19 years and Cybex of Owatonna for 14 years until his retirement. Norman was a member of American Legion, Post 43 of Faribault.

He is survived by four children, Linda Taylor of Faribault, Brian (and Bonnie Penman) Taylor of Faribault; John (and Heidi) Taylor of Red Wing and Marc (and Laureen) Taylor of Faribault; four grandchildren, Angela Taylor, Christine Taylor, Linsey Taylor and Mitchel Taylor; one sister, Jeanne (and Ben) Quamme of Forest Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; and two brothers, Roger and Glenn Taylor.
