OLETHA E. LIPS

Services: Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church, Faribault
  Friday, December 16, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.
Visitation: The Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault
  4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and at church one hour prior to the service

Oletha E. (Mrs. Victor) Lips, age 90 of Faribault, died suddenly on Monday, December 12, 2011 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church, Faribault on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Dennis R. Tamke officiating. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Thursday, December 15th from 4 to 7 p.m. and also at church for one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Oletha Eleanor, the daughter of Fred and Nellie (Smith) Plaisance was born February 7, 1921 in Faribault. She graduated from Faribault High School in 1938. Oletha married Victor Lips on April 28, 1953 in Faribault and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2011. She and Victor farmed in Rice County and she previously worked at Piggly Wiggly, Faribault.

She is survived by a son, Ron (and Paula) Lips of Faribault; granddaughter, Amanda (and Evan) Pasicznyk and their children Linnea and Elizabeth, all of Rosemount; grandchildren, Thomas Nicholson of Minneapolis, Tim (and Teresa) Nicholson of Milaca, Katie (and Brian) Martin of Evergreen, CO and Michael (and Jennie) Nicholson, Jr. of Owatonna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Victor; a son, Roger and a grandson, Greg.

Thank you for calling me this am and informing me so I could tell Myrtle before she heard it on the news. We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our deepest sympathies to you. Myrtle told me they were the best of friends. She had talked to her on the phone on 2nd and they had a nice conversation that day. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
