DORIS CHAVIE KEECH
Doris E. Chavie Keech, age 77, of Faribault, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Faribault, with the Reverend Robert L. Mundahl officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 2 to 6 p.m. and also at the church for one hour prior to the services on Monday.
Doris E., the daughter of Alferd O. and Mable (Dwyer) Bauer, was born on August 27, 1933 in Faribault. She graduated from Faribault High School. She was formerly employed by Tempo, Woolworth’s and Special Woman Department Stores, all of Faribault. She married LaVerne J. Chavie on Nov. 4, 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1974. Later she married Clyde Keech on July 28, 1989 in Faribault. Doris enjoyed country music, dancing, socializing with friends and laughing.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde; two children, Todd Chavie of Morristown and Renae (and Joe) Samaan of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; six grandchildren, Ashley, Curtis, Ben and Isaac Chavie, Kandace and Maranda Samaan; her mother, Mable Bauer of Faribault; 15 step children, Bonnie Keech, Patricia Keech Kreft, Beverly Carey, Cindy (and Jeff) Jackelen, Nancy (and Steven) Graumann, Mary Ellen (and Joe) Lotti, Sue (and Steve) Clegg, Shirley (and Jonathon) Roth, Julie (and Bill) Wychor, Bill (and Kathy) Keech, Jeannine (and Mark) Guck, Janelle (and Larry) Stevens, Jennifer (and Kevin) Woodhouse, Jason (and Tracy) Keech and Jolene (and Calvin) Fenn; many step grandchildren, great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren; four siblings David (and Pat) Bauer, Joyce (and Tom) Draper, Steven (and Kris) Bauer and Jeffrey (and Julie) Bauer;
She was preceded in death by her father, Alferd Bauer; her first husband, LaVerne Chavie; one grandson, Tyler Chavie; one sister, Marion Bauer and one stepson, Richard Keech.

I remember that Doris had the greatest sense of humor. She would say something very quietly amidst all the background chatter, but somehow everyone would hear it and crack up laughing.... And she always had a great big hug and a smile for me! I will truly miss you, Doris!

One of my favorite memories was last June when I spent a week at Dad and Doris' in Faribault. They always loved to watch RFD TV country western music shows. One Saturday night as I lay resting on the couch, both Dad and Doris were singing along with the singers on TV and they both looked so happy and sang so well! It was a beautiful sight to see and hear!! I believe Doris is singing and dancing up in Heaven to a "little bit of country!" Doris, you will be missed but not forgotten......until we meet again!!
