Marion Almendinger, age 85 of Faribault, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at St. Luke’s Church in Faribault with burial at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Boldt Funeral Home in Faribault and also at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services.
Marion Joyce Wulf, the daughter of William and Joy (Sheperd) Wulf was born on February 19, 1926 in Faribault. She was baptized and confirmed at the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church in Faribault. She attended Faribault schools thru 10th grade and graduated in 1943 from Keokuk High School, Keokuk, IA. Marion graduated from Nursing School at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL as a Registered Nurse. After graduation, she worked at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy. After her marriage, Marion worked at the St. Lucas Hospital then at District One Hospital until her retirement. She was united in marriage to Calvin Almendinger on May 30, 1948 and they farmed and raised their family in Walcott Township. After retirement, Marion worked at the Sample Shop and volunteered at the Clothes Closet.
Marion enjoyed embroidering, sewing, quilting, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was active in the rural school district serving as treasurer for a number of years. Marion served as a 4-H leader, a member of the local extension club and the neighborhood card club before moving to Faribault.
Marion is survived by her children, John of Faribault, Lois of North Mankato, Jane (Steve) Aspelund, Judy (Paul) Cross and Mary Jo DuPay all of Faribault; son-in-law, Mark DuPay of Faribault; former daughter-in-law Wanda Almendinger of Waterville; 14 grandchildren, Timothy (Erin) Almendinger, Joy (Scott Annexstad) Almendinger and Jeff (Stephanie) Almendinger, Kelly (Jake Cumminskey) Cross, Ryan and Jamie Cross, Josh (April Embree) Almendinger, Jason (Heather Labs) Almendinger and Nicholas Almendinger, Kalien and Kelcey Aspelund, Ali, Amanda and Lydia DuPay; 10 great grandchildren; Jordan Annexstad, Adyson Almendinger, Morgan and Calli Almendinger, Burke, Brianna and Tegan Almendinger, Caleb Cross, Austen and Colsten Almendinger; sister, Lola (Larry) Brown of Montrose, Iowa; sister-in-law, Helen Klapperich of Faribault, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; her parents; 3 great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Almendinger Jr, Micheal and Calvin Almendinger.

I miss you Grandma! I will never forget our memories there are so many, eating supper at your house with pizza and ranch watching wheel of fortune, or the summer I biked over to your house everyday cleaning out your cupboards, also all the holidays we shared together, the nights I stayed over, and you always teddysitting my teddybear, and of course our Iowa trip, and many many more. There are so many memories I could go on forever. I'm going to miss you so much but I will see you someday soon! Say hi to Grandpa and tell him I look forward to meeting him someday in heaven!
